‘We founded 32Fahrenheit with one clear goal: To provide the tools that hospitality businesses need to elevate their standards and fulfil their potential

Adrian Whitehouse

Adrian has 15+ years within the hospitality industry and was most recently the owner, co-founder and creative director of Cottonmouth, the much-loved award-winning bar in Nottingham. After six years of playing a significant part in the renaissance of Nottingham’s high-end cocktail scene, Adrian decided that the evolution of the Cottonmouth brand existed outside of the Cottonmouth bar.

Adrian chose to close Cottonmouth on a high in February 2023, having just been named one of the best 50 bars in the country — the first from the East Midlands to take that accolade.  Before Cottonmouth, Adrian earned his chops at high-profile restaurants and bars in the UK and North America.  Outside of the industry, Adrian is often to be found shedding a few tears when attending Nottingham Forest football matches and taking out any other frustrations on teenagers playing Call of Duty.

Paul O’Brien

Paul likes a drink.  Working as a Project Manager in the Broadcast industry for the last 20 years as allowed Paul to spend far too much time in some of the best bars, restaurants and hotels in the world and witness first-hand how other countries and cultures define ‘hospitality.’

Despite wrangling vision mixers and servers (and watching far too much TV), the hospitality industry has always been close to Paul’s heart. To support himself through college and university, Paul worked as a line cook and bartender, an eventful path that led to Paul being crowned 9th best bartender in the country in the Allied Domecq ‘Bartender of the Year Awards 1993’… an achievement that is still on his CV and one that he clings onto a little too tightly.  After leaving university, Paul worked in the hospitality industry as a Sound Engineer and eventually managed licensed live music venues and pubs for Allied Domecq and Whitbread.

Deciding that now is the time to spend a little more time at home and return to the hospitality industry, Paul is bringing together his varied and considerable experience to 32Fahrenheit. When not sitting at a bar sipping whisk(e)y, Paul collects rare bourbon, often enjoys sitting in cold English summers watching cricket and endeavors to visit as many as the world’s best (and worst) bars as possible, all in the name of research.
